When will I receive my monthly invoice for purchases in installments?
We always send your monthly invoice on the 15th of the month. If you have made a purchase in installments in the current month, we will add the corresponding amount to the next monthly invoice. For example, if you order at the beginning of August, the amount will appear on the monthly invoice that we send you in mid-September. You can decide for yourself how you would like to receive your monthly invoice. When you log in here, you can choose between receiving it by post or by e-mail.
Why did I receive a notification/contract for an installment purchase?
A notification or a contract for a flexible installment purchase with Klarna will be sent if the flexible installment purchase was selected when purchasing online. If you would like to pay amounts of €200 or more by installment purchase, we will send you an installment purchase contract by post. Please sign it and send it back to us so that we can offer you the installment purchase.
Can I pay the outstanding installment purchase amount in full?
Yes, you can repay the outstanding amount in full at any time. As soon as the payment has been received in full, no further interest will be charged. You will no longer be charged a monthly installment purchase fee. If you would like to buy in installments again in the future, we will simply activate your existing installment purchase contract.
How high is my monthly installment payment?
You always pay as much as you want, but at least the minimum amount due shown on the monthly invoice.
In the "Total amount outstanding" line on your current monthly invoice, you can see how much is outstanding to pay your installment purchase in full. Your monthly invoices are available to you at any time in the Klarna app or here.
The total amount on my monthly bill is higher than expected. Why is that?

Why have I been charged late fees?
Late payment fees will be charged if we have not received your payment by the due date. This is stated on the monthly invoice. Late payment fees will also be charged if you have paid less than the minimum amount stated or if your transfer could not be allocated. When making a bank transfer, please therefore only state the reason for payment specified on the monthly invoice.
How does flexible installment purchasing with Klarna work?
If you have opted for flexible installment purchasing with Klarna, you can pay your invoice at your own pace. All orders for which you choose flexible installment purchase are collected on a clear monthly invoice. This is always sent in the middle of the month. If you are using the installment purchase payment method for the first time, we will send you the first monthly invoice in the following month. In most cases, it is possible to pay your invoice in installments if the retailer you ordered from offers flexible installment purchasing with Klarna. It's so easy to start paying in installments: Log in to our app or here and select the desired installment payment option for the order you want to pay for in installments. From then on, you will receive your monthly invoice regularly and decide for yourself how much you want to pay (but at least the minimum amount stated on your monthly invoice). Can I also receive my monthly invoice by e-mail?
Of course, we can send you the monthly invoice for installment purchases by e-mail instead of by post. Log in here and confirm this choice - also for the sake of the environment.
What happens if I don't pay my installments on time?
If we do not receive your payment or only receive part of it by the due date stated on the monthly invoice, you will be in default. This will result in costs for us, which must be paid by you. If we receive no or insufficient payments for several months, your installment purchase may be terminated and the claim may be handed over to a debt collection agency.
What happens if I pay the minimum amount due?
If you pay the minimum amount due on your monthly invoice, the invoices contained therein that you have concluded at fixed installments are automatically converted into a flexible installment purchase.
How does the installment purchase with fixed terms work?
If you take out an installment purchase for a fixed term (3, 6 or 12 months), the total amount of your invoice will be spread evenly over this term. The invoice will be added to your flexible installment purchase and you will only receive one monthly invoice for all completed installment purchases. The interest rate for the fixed installment purchase is 9.99% p.a.
Can I convert my invoice into an installment purchase?
For some invoices, it is possible to convert the invoice into an installment purchase in the Klarna app or on klarna.de. Follow these four simple steps:
