5 tips for a completely natural lifestyle

More and more information is becoming available about the benefits of a natural lifestyle. This movement will be very beneficial for our health and well-being and many of us are already embracing it. Whether you want to completely change your lifestyle or just reduce the chemicals you are exposed to, here are our five tips for a completely natural Lifestyle…

Parabens and phthalates are the important ones to look out for.

1. CHOOSE “PURE COSMETICS”

Few of us are aware of what is actually in our makeup products. From foundation to lipstick to mascara, these everyday products could be responsible for us applying harmful chemicals to our skin on a daily basis. Parabens and phthalates, found in many products, are the significant ones to look out for. Triclosan was recently banned by the FDA, but it's still worth keeping an eye out for this ingredient just to be safe.

Parabens and phthalates are known endocrine disrupting chemicals. This means that they can disrupt hormones in the body and even cause fertility issues. To combat this, use a natural cosmetics brand and check the ingredient list for "propylparaben and methylparaben." Phthalates are often disguised as "fragrances" on ingredient lists, so products with this listing should be avoided.

The same goes for pretty much anything you put on your body – moisturizer, shampoo, hair conditioner – can contain all of these harmful ingredients.

2. CHOOSE A NATURAL SKINCARE RANGE

Like cosmetics and shampoos, many skin care products can contain harmful ingredients. The best way to take care of your skin is to provide it with all the nutrients and vitamins it needs from natural sources. If possible, choose a range that contains a high percentage of natural and organic ingredients and always check the ingredients labels.

Our entire range uses the highest quality plant-based and organic ingredients and is PETA-certified vegan and cruelty-free.

Plastic usually contains endocrinologically disruptive and carcinogenic chemicals such as phthalates and BPA

3. AVOIDING PLASTIC

By now, everyone knows that plastic waste is extremely harmful to the environment; but in addition, too much plastic is also harmful to our health. Plastic usually contains endocrinologically disruptive and carcinogenic chemicals such as phthalates and BPA. The aim is to reduce the plastic you have at home, use glass containers to store food and generally remove all plastic packaging and redistribute the contents into a glass or other container.

4. BUY ORGANIC

The best way to eliminate chemicals from your diet is to buy organic and follow a "clean" eating plan. This means no processed foods and everything we eat comes from natural sources.

For some, switching to completely organic products immediately can be a bit much and expensive. If switching to a completely organic diet is not possible (yet), look instead at what you eat most often and try to find organic alternatives for those foods first.

Perfume your home with a diffuser and essential oils or plant-based wax candles. There are so many beautiful natural scents in the world that can be taken advantage of.

5. REPLACE ARTIFICIAL HOUSEHOLD FRAGRANCES AND CLEANING PRODUCTS

It's obvious when you think about it: most cleaning products, candles and air fresheners contain harmful chemicals. Of course, we all want our homes to smell nice, but the products we use could be doing more harm than good.

Why not scent your home with a diffuser and essential oils or plant-based wax candles? There are so many beautiful natural scents in the world that you can take advantage of. Alternatively, you can invest in fresh flowers once a week to add a subtle scent.

Many cleaning products contain carcinogens and lung irritants. There's no need to clean every surface in the house with a different product. There are many eco-friendly and natural alternatives now available on the market. And how about making your own all-purpose cleaner using castile soap and baking soda? For non-toxic cleaning, you can also use essential oils that will add a pleasant smell to any home.

These steps provide a great way to start living an all-natural lifestyle. To keep unnecessary and harmful chemicals out of your lifestyle, you should make at least a few changes or preferably follow all five steps .
