Your beauty guide for summer and festival season

Summer is just around the corner and with it the amazing festival season. It's the time of longer days, warmer nights and the smell of sunscreen! There are certain things you should keep in mind when it comes to your beauty in summer. After festivals and camping, you might feel like you need to freshen up, so we have some tips for you!

SKIN CARE

If you've been lying in the sun all day with sunscreen on, or dancing in the mud at a festival, your skin will need a good cleanse.

We keep repeating it because cleansing your skin is so important and the best thing you can do for your skin. Try a fresh and gentle cleansing gel - our natural, organic, regenerating facial cleanser - cleanses and refreshes your skin. It also contains vitamin C to protect against UV sun damage. Avoid cleansing wipes. As convenient as they are, unfortunately the cleansing effect is poor.

Using an SPF 50+++ is crucial for your health, protecting your skin and preventing premature aging. Make sure you choose one specifically for your face so it doesn't clog your pores. Try to avoid sun exposure between 11am-3pm and drink as much water as possible.

In summer, it's a good idea to always carry a facial mist with you. It will cool your skin and provide extra moisture. Fill a spray bottle half with filtered water and half with rose water. Mist your face when you're hot or need a makeup refresh.

BODY CARE

Sun protection on the body is just as important as on the face. It is recommended to use an SPF of 30 or more. To prepare for summer, a body scrub is a great way to stimulate circulation, remove dead skin cells and reduce the appearance of cellulite. Choose a sea salt-based scrub or simply make your own scrub using our scrub recipe.

MAKE UP

We wrote a post about some ways you can change up your daily makeup routine. Along with these tips, we also recommend using long-lasting and waterproof products for your lips and eyes. It would be a real shame if you wanted to come out of the water like a mermaid and then ruined your big entrance with panda eyes. Use a lightly tinted moisturizer with an SPF on top of your sunscreen, or a mineral powder, as these allow the skin to breathe if you sweat in the sun.

Let's move on to makeup: the big trend of the year is definitely glitter, applied to the cheekbones and temples. You can either use special products or simply apply Vaseline to the desired areas of skin and then sprinkle glitter on them (it should be suitable for use on the face).

HAIR CARE

Sun, sea, swimming pools and sand can be very harsh on your hair, damaging it and drying it out. Summer is the perfect time to give your mane an extra dose of care. Avoid styling with curling irons or straighteners as much as possible and wear your hair natural. If you struggle with frizz and would like to straighten your hair, try using salt water spray for a great beach look.

Try a restructuring hair mask once a week. Warm up some coconut oil and rub it into your hair and scalp. Leave the mask on for a few hours, or better yet, overnight. When you wash your hair, it will be noticeably softer and less dry.
