Our main active ingredient (nanoparticle-free zinc oxide) provides excellent broad spectrum protection against blue light, UVA, UVB and UVC rays. Zinc oxide is also an anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial powerhouse and an essential trace element that is reef safe, 100% photostable, does not react with chlorinated pool water and does not degrade over time.
ZinClear XP is EcoCert certified, reef safe and manufactured in an FDA approved facility in Australia. EcoCert is a bio-certification that distinguishes ZinClear from
ZinClear from other mineral UV filters.
The FDA's sunscreen safety review published on September 24, 2021 confirmed that zinc oxide and titanium dioxide are the only broad spectrum UV filters considered safe and effective, while the following 12 UV filters were classified as potentially toxic and/or carcinogenic. The ingredients oxybenzone, octinoxate, octisalate, octocrylene, homosalate and avobenzone are absorbed systemically by the body after a single application, according to studies published by the FDA. The authority also found that they can still be detected on the skin and in the blood weeks after the last application.
